Daily photo by Ronnie ThomasOur very own Derek Keener was selected by the Legion Post 15 for the Eagle Scout of the Year award. Derek is a senior this year at Austin High school and an active member of our Troop 260. He was the troop's 50th eagle scout! They awarded Derek a $500 college scholarhsip from the post. He has also earned band and academic scholarships from the University of North Alabama. Derek plans on attending UNA in the Fall of 2009.
Way to go Derek!!!!
